Job description

Position Information:
The Communications and Public Relations Officer works with the President/CEO and the Senior Development Officer to formulate and propose the community relations plans and policies for both the Foundation and Hospital. Responsible for media relations, hospital spokesperson, events planning and co-ordination, marketing and branding, internal/external communications and strategies, community partnerships.

-B.A. degree is required preferably in English, journalism, marketing, communications, business, liberal arts or human resources.
-A minimum of three years in a public relations and/or communications field, working with the general public.
-Excellent communications skills, both written and oral.
-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with members of the Senior Team, Management Team, Board of Trust, Foundation Board, Staff, Physicians and Volunteers.
-Ability to analyze, organize and evaluate plans and actions, assessing long-range impact and outcomes.
-Understand and be fluent in the use of software applications, such as Word and PowerPoint.
-Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Indesign, Premiere Pro and Photoshop considered an asset.
-Have the ability to multi-task and set priorities; manage time efficiently. -Demonstrate strong teamwork skills.
-Maintain project calendar; and deliver communications within assigned deadlines.
-Commitment to Patient Care & Safety and Service Excellence.
