About FSJACL: The Fort St. John Association for Community Living (FSJACL) is a non-profit agency committed to providing quality support to adults with developmental disabilities in the Fort St. John and District since 1960. As a CARF accredited agency, FSJACL boasts a professional staff team of over 70 employees dedicated to offering quality services and opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities. Collaboration with community partners is integral to achieving the organization's vision of inclusion for all.
Responsibilities: As an Activity Worker, you will play a crucial role in the inclusion program, supporting individuals in various activities. Responsibilities include planning and organizing community outings, in-house program activities such as arts and crafts, horticulture, and exercise. The position aims to enhance the quality of life for those served by promoting health, choice, skill building and community inclusion.
Qualifications:
- Class 5 Driver's license and reliable vehicle (compensated for personal vehicle use as per the Collective Agreement).
- Proof of double vaccination for COVID-19.
- Able to pass a criminal record check.
- Outgoing and creative personality.
- Ability to lead and teach sessions.
- Computer and documentation skills, including writing, completing logs, and creating overviews.
- Applicants should be comfortable dealing with varying degrees of individual needs and abilities.
- Union membership is required for this position.
