The Department of Accounting and Business Analytics is accepting applications for a full-time, Academic Teaching Staff position for a 3-year fixed term appointment beginning July 1, 2023.
Reporting to the Department Chair, the position will include the following responsibilities:
- Teach a diverse set of business technology management courses (8 sections) to undergraduate and graduate students, including Systems Analysis and Design Telecommunications in Business, Management Support Systems, Systems Development Using Advances Software Tools, Technology-Enabled Business Process Management, Management Information Systems and Introduction to Information Systems Project Management
- Prepare course syllabi, course materials, assignments, exams, and assign grades
- Evaluate student performance progress and provide appropriate and timely feedback according to department protocols
- Teach various lab sessions in addition to the courses taught to undergraduate and graduate students which will give students hands on experience with software products
- Remain abreast of relevant literature in business technology management as it applies to teaching and activities
- Provide help sessions to undergraduate and graduate students on BTM fundamentals
- Assist in the administration of obtaining BTM certification
- Participate in department activities, including advising student clubs and coaching students for case competitions
- Develop curriculum and materials for new business technology management courses
- Applicants are preferred to have a degree in business technology management or management information systems and a relevant IT-related professional experience is required. An equivalent combination of education, teaching experience or industry experience will be considered
- Demonstrated teaching excellence at the post-secondary level
- Applicants must have expert knowledge in IT and IT applications such as Amazon Web Services, WordPress, MS SQL Server, MS Visio, MS Project, MS Power BI, data modelling and familiarity with programming lanagues such as Python, Java or PHP
- Experience supervising undergraduate and graduate students
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Facilitation, negotiation and problem-solving skills and an ability to handle challenging student situations
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience in accordance with the .
