Our client, in the Pharmaceutical industry is seeking a Accounting Manager, for a 18 months contract, with a possibility for conversion to permanent with strong analytical and Management skills. Responsibilities
- Management and oversight of daily, month end/quarter end/year end closing procedures across General Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Treasury and Service Revenue Billing team; including facilitating review meetings and analytics, ensuring results are accurate and timely
- Assist the Corporate Controller in the daily banking and cash flow requirements, ensuring the model continuously evolves for accurate and complete cash requirements and position
- Review reconciliations prepared by other team members, ensuring completeness and accuracy across the trial balance, ensuring delivery of accurate financial statements
- Ensure all journal entries are printed, and completed with the necessary backup documentation, all reviewed and approved for accuracy and compliances with US GAAP and SOX
- Oversee/assist in the preparation of monthly financial analysis and reports for both Flash and month end/quarter end close (Sage, Oracle, etc.)
- Manage the creation, the review and update of supporting SOX narratives
- Manage the SOX testing program, continually improving the internal controls environment, and tracking the monthly/quarterly testing, assisting with, and managing the remediation of any deficiencies
- Responds to inquiries from VP Finance, Corporate Controller, and other finance and company wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and inquiries
- Oversee the training for new and existing staff as required, continuous performance management, coaching and on-going support and development of the team
- Review of supporting documentation for tax returns (corporate, commodity), ensuring they are complete and submitted in a timely fashion. Review of completed entity corporate tax returns prior to final sign-off by VP Finance
- Continuous process improvement with regards to processes and related financial systems (ERP), providing support and engagement with any enhancements, upgrades or system conversions
- Acts as liaison by coordinating accounting matters between divisional associates and other department managers
- Participation in various audits as they arise (preparation and facilitation as required)
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, Pursuing or Designated CPA required
- Minimum twelve (12) years directly related experience, having held progressively responsible positions in Finance/Accounting
- Experience working in the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry would be an asset
- Working knowledge of Sage, and other ERP software packages
- Strong leadership experience in building and developing talent to deliver business objectives
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
