Job Description

The Accounts Payable Representative is responsible for effectively overseeing the vendor payment process which primarily includes maintaining successful vendor relationships and managing the efficient and timely processing of invoices for payment according to established payment terms.

Key Accountabilities

Vendor Invoice Management
  • Ensuring all vessel related invoices are received and are appropriately reviewed and approved before processing for payment
  • Ensuring the appropriate vendor invoice flow and timely posting in SAP
  • Ensuring that vendor invoices are paid within stated payment terms
  • Responsible for vendor reconciliations as requested
  • Handling of disputed charges with operations department, ship managers and head-office
  • Apply for invoice or vendor credits where applicable
  • Ensure that vendor tariff rates are reflected in all internally used files used for verifying operations, trucking, rail, depot invoices
  • Ensure cycle of communication between operations, logistics & accounting
  • Assist with risk prevention and claims invoicing and processing
  • Assist Accounts Payable Manager with any request related to the area
Qualifications
