Position Description:

The McGill University Department of Diagnostic Radiology is seeking a nuclear physician to lead the five-member group in the Nuclear Medicine Division at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinical). This position is located at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) Royal Victoria Hospital. This faculty appointment will be part of the Contract Academic Staff and does not confer eligibility for tenure. The professorial rank will be according to the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The Royal Victoria Hospital is situated on the Glen campus of the MUHC in their outstanding 2015 facility and provides state-of-the-art tertiary and quaternary imaging and care. There is ample opportunity for clinical research including various novel radiotracers and theranostic projects. The Royal Victoria Hospital houses five SPECT/CT cameras, one PET/CT and a bone densitometer, and the PET/CT and SPECT/CT at the Montreal General Hospital are currently being upgraded.

Job Duties:
The successful candidate will be appointed as Director of the nuclear medicine division, and will also be responsible for clinical, teaching, and research activities in nuclear medicine. They will be actively involved in all aspects of McGill’s academic mission (teaching, research, supervision of graduate students, in other scholarly duties such as academic and administrative committees) and will provide excellent clinical teaching and supervision to diverse residents and medical students.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Requirements:

An MD degree with certification in Nuclear Medicine (Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada) and licensure or eligibility for licensure in Quebec;

At least one year of fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine;

Leadership qualities and administrative experience;

A commitment to teaching and a strong interest in clinical research and publication.

Assets:

Prior experience as a medical director;

French language skills.
