Position Summary
This position is responsible for monitoring the dryer and the calciner and tipple operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete operational checks and inspections on plant equipment as well as fire checks.
- Report deficiencies or needs for repairs and perform minor maintenance tasks.
- Perform general cleaning duties at the calciner, tipple, coal dryer, and silos.
- Ensure the flue is kept clear of slag and small particles.
- Monitor the plant operations and suggest actions to optimize production and reduce downtime.
- Relieve the Plant Operator from the control room.
- Operate support equipment such as telehandler, forklift, and skid steer.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- Valid Class 5 drivers license.
- Previous experience in an industrial environment is an asset.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights.
This position currently follows a 28-day shift rotation working 12-hour day and night shifts from 7:00 to 7:00. The shift rotation is: 3 days, 2 off, 2 nights, 3 off, 2 days, 2 off, 3 nights, 2 off, 2 days, 3 off, 2 nights, 2 off.
This position is located at the Plant Operation, located approximately 30 km from the city of Estevan. The successful candidate will be responsible for his/her own accommodations and transportation.
