Assistant Winemaker/Winemaker

Pentâge Winery is a well-established boutique winery situated in Penticton, BC, known for producing exceptional wines. We are currently seeking a dedicated full-time Assistant Winemaker/Winemaker (dependent on qualification and experience) in our winemaking and vineyard operations. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and possess a strong attention to detail.

This opportunity is perfect for a team player who is eager to work in the cellar and in vineyard assistance. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of all aspects of the cellar operations, enjoy performing viticulture tasks and be detailed oriented.

Job Description (but not limited to):- Perform all day-to-day cellar tasks (laboratory knowledge would be an asset)
- Ability to run a crush pad, receiving grapes, pressing, destemming/crushing, cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining equipment
- Proficient in cellar tasks such as tank/barrel cleaning and sanitizing, punch downs, pump overs, monitoring ferments, racking and transfers, wine additions, barrel work, blending, fining, filtering, and bottling
- Experience and knowledge of viticulture and the ability to manage and perform vineyard tasks
- Maintain up-to-date thorough wine records (excel and word)

Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years winery and vineyard experience
- Technical Degree/Diploma in Winemaking or Oenology an asset
- Enjoys working individually as well as part of the team
- Previous experience and capable of operate all farm equipment (tractor, sprayer, forklift, mowing, hedging...)
- Detailed oriented, with strong communication skills, & able to organize and prioritize tasks
- Mechanical skills in relation to winery equipment maintenance and upkeep – an asset
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Applicant must be able to lift 50lbs+
- Basic verbal Spanish would be an asset
- Must be legally able to work in Canada and fluent in English
