Position Summary: The Associate Director, Compliance Lead, Canada (“Compliance Lead – Canada”) will be responsible for leading, driving, and managing all aspects of Alexion’s Global Compliance Program for Canada, including the R&D regional hub and other International functions to be established in the Canadian Market. In this role, the Compliance Lead – Canada will actively participate on the local leadership teams, interact frequently with cross-functional Leadership Teams, and be responsible for providing strategic direction and general compliance guidance, as well as implementing and maintaining all aspects of Alexion’s Global Compliance Program.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Working with ED to provide strategic direction and compliance leadership
Implementing and manage of Alexion’s Global Compliance Program, including the Company’s anti-bribery/anti-corruption (“ABAC”) Compliance Program
Drafting and implementing policies, procedures, SOPs, and relevant compliance guidance, as needed
Actively participating and serving on the local leadership teams, providing compliance guidance consistent with the Company’s Values to promote ethical behavior, and enhance Alexion’s Global Compliance Program
Implementing Alexion’s Compliance Program across Canada, including the R&D regional hub, ensuring appropriate compliance due diligence, governance, and monitoring processes are established
Establishing compliance governance by co-managing and co-chairing the Canada Compliance Committee and support R&D related committees
Executing proactive compliance initiatives for Canada such as risk assessments, compliance workshops, training initiatives, and other compliance monitoring activities
Managing and coordinating remediation from investigations and corporate audit findings
Delivering regular compliance training to Alexion employees and relevant third parties on the Company’s policies and procedures, and Code of Conduct
Maintaining knowledge and understanding of Alexion and its global business operations and strategies; industry codes and regulations and external legal, regulatory, and business developments
Serving as a Compliance subject matter expert for R&D and Global Medical, and Canadian Compliance risks.
Serving as the main Compliance business partner for the entire Canada leadership team.
Supporting key strategic approaches for compliance across the R&D and Global Medical organizations
Serves as a strategic advisor to R&D and Global Medical representatives to provide compliance-based input and direction to ongoing R&D and medical affairs activities across product life cycle
Monitoring the regulatory environment to ensure the implementation of best practices
Serving as a member of Alexion’s Global Compliance Team to continuously monitor and enhance the Company’s Compliance Program
You will need to have:
The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. Legal, compliance, R&D, or financial background with 5-7 years of compliance/pharmaceutical or adjacent industry experience.
