The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a highly organized, multidisciplinary Associate Manager to join our Graphic Design team. In this role you will be responsible for managing requests for graphic design services through our team's Workload Management System in Airtable including: reviewing creative briefs, scheduling resources, supervision and hands-on delivery of high-quality design solutions under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record working as a Creative Lead/Manager in a graphic design studio environment. A strong online design portfolio to showcase the breadth of your creative and graphic design capabilities is required with your application.

What you’ll be doing every day:

Your primary responsibility will be to lead and manage the successful delivery of graphic design projects through our team's Workload Management System in Airtable including: reviewing creative briefs, scheduling resources, and the supervision and hands-on delivery of high-quality design solutions under tight deadlines.

Work closely with internal project stakeholders to understand design requirements and to ensure creative briefs are complete and effectively communicate the goals and design direction of the project.

Work closely with other Associate Managers to update team assignments in Airtable and monitor design productivity on all projects.

Proactively monitor and forecast the team's capacity for new project assignments.

Lead weekly design sync meetings with all team members to ensure projects are tracking as planned and address scheduling and project changes as required.

Ensure project stakeholders are kept up to date on project changes and progress.

Work closely with design team members to ensure the ApplyBoard brand is consistently represented across all designs internally and externally—facilitate design reviews/approvals on projects while monitoring team member workloads and following up on due dates—conduct weekly 1:1s with team members and quarterly KPI reviews.

Conceptualize and develop initial design frameworks for traditional and digital mediums, including but not limited to: ApplyBoard branding, product and marketing websites, social media channels, email campaigns, marketing programs, knowledgebase, training platform, presentations, videos, and events.

Incorporate constructive feedback from key stakeholders and the Manager, Graphic Design into final deliverables.

Apply industry best practices and stay on-top-of the latest technology and strategies to keep the ApplyBoard brand looking fresh and forward-facing.

Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Graphic Design.

What you bring to the table:

5+ years related experience with a minimum 2+ years managing design teams in an agency or fast-paced environment (Ed tech industry experience preferred).

A creative mindset with a skills understanding of marketing and graphic design fundamentals is essential.

Proficient in a Mac environment with advanced experience using Adobe Creative Cloud including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.

A working knowledge of Figma (our primary design workspace) will be essential to your day-to-day work.

A creative mindset with a strong understanding of design principles and marketing design fundamentals.

A strong working knowledge of Airtable (WMS) and expertise in workload management processes.

Exceptional project management skills and ability to organize and meet deadlines on multiple projects.

Strong attention to detail to ensure that project expectations are met and free of any errors.

Self-starter with a positive attitude and ability to work and solve problems independently.

Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
