What is the opportunity?
Business Transformation and Governance is a team responsible for delivering value through transformational projects, business management, and ensuring effective controls and governance are in place. The team's mandate includes supporting the organization by working closely with teams across the front and back offices globally. The team also regularly partners with internal and external parties to provide industry insights, perspectives and a strategic lens to COO Leadership.
We are seeking a high performing individual to join our PMO supporting portfolio management.
What will you do?
Portfolio Management (80%)
Guide theplanning function, including intake of new proposals and execution of the triage, prioritization and approval processes to move projects through the Investment Review Board and Project Approval Meetings
Act as a liaison between business departments and Technology by educating stakeholders about planning practices and regularly identifying areas for improvement
Guide the closure process and ensure successful BAU handoff and release of project team
Administer the Post Implementation Review (PIR) process in conjunction with Lessons Learned to create meaningful summarized reports for both executives and PMs.
Coordinate and manage the routing of Project Change Requests (PCRs), supporting Governance activities
Position the PM CoE as a trusted partner by striving for excellence and communicating with conviction
Actively support the rollout of new processes, standards, best practices, tools and techniques.
Support processes and standards documentation activities in a centralized CoE knowledge base
Actively participate in the Project Management Community of Practice.
Maintain a strong understanding of the PMO landscape in RBC and ensure the Capital Markets COO group is represented accurately in target operating models
Risk and Compliance (20%)
Work with Governance Lead to support the internal audit process designed to measure the health of PMO Programs/Projects
Ensure compliance with and keep aware of RBC initiatives’ policies and procedures
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
Post-secondary degree in Technology or Finance
1-2 years of project support/coordination experience
2-3 years of process improvement experience
MS Office Suite experience
SharePoint and Confluence experience
Strong negotiation skills with ability to build relationships
Problem solver with a high level of attention to detail
Proactive and a self-starter, with strong time management skills
Nice-to-have:
Certification/Designation in a related area. PMP certification
Experience in Business Case writing
Previous experience with an EPPM (Planview, Clarity etc.)
Understanding of PMLC / SDLC processes
