Job Description
Reporting to the Retail Field Manager, the Associate Specialist, Asset Protection will support, coordinate and execute programs, policies and procedures to minimise the loss of merchandise, cash flow, company assets, including the health and safety aspect within the omni-channel model of Retail. The Associate Specialist, Asset Protection will provide oversight and host training to all employees while collaborating with the Leadership Team and Business Partners. The candidate will foster a positive work environment that embraces SSENSE brand values and achieves both company and financial objectives. The position is site-based.
Responsibilities
Loss Prevention Operations - 70%
- Conduct plain clothes duties such as, but not limited to, conducting floor walks and support the store by performing inspections and providing feedback regarding all aspects of SSENSE safety, security and shrink standards.
- Conduct audits and verifications to prevent theft/ fraudulent activity and identify potential losses, building security, inventory control, compliance, and employee awareness.
- Support developing action plans to achieve shortage reduction and operational compliance in partnership with Retail Leadership.
- Participate in Retail in-store projects, business activities (installations, schedules, etc.) and committees including Health & Safety.
- Develop and maintain a professional relationship with all internal partners, local law enforcement agencies and other retailers.
- Support store leadership team with inventory preparation and process.
- Use CCTV and Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems effectively.
- Log and participate in resolving alleged and actual theft, violations of policy, and compliance with the SSENSE programs including, but not limited to, all internal and external investigations.
- Support conducting internal investigations as required, with confidentiality.
- Respond to emergencies in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate follow-up reporting.
- Testify in court on behalf of the company, in any case, criminal or civil, when summoned.
- Ensure the store team is equipped with the necessary knowledge and skill sets.
- Maintain and host onboarding and training programs specific to fraud prevention, employee awareness and health & safety.
- High school or equivalent diploma
- A minimum of 2 years professional experience in asset protection or loss prevention in a high volume client-facing environment and retail operations
- Experience dealing with emergency situations (theft, first aid, fire alarms)
- Provincial guarding licence required
- Must be currently certified in First Aid/ CPR
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Flexible schedule required, including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, as per business needs
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting and other activities necessary to perform job duties
- Must be able to lift and carry 20lbs
- Experience in using physical and e-commerce security systems (CCTV, EAS, alarm, access control, lock, key, POS, Online transaction, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
- Kinesic interview techniques or other interviewing/interrogation certification an asset
- Entrepreneurial, autonomous and organised with an eye for detail
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to provide effective coaching and feedback on asset protection standards
- Excellent analytical skills as well as strong verbal
- Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner
