Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and production of bakery items such as cakes, pastries, and breads
- Package and label bakery products for display and sale
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their bakery needs
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and safe work environment
- Assist with cake decorating and other bakery decoration tasks as needed
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient workflow and timely production
Experience:
- Previous experience in a bakery or food preparation setting is preferred
- Knowledge of baking techniques and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in baking and food preparation
- Strong attention to detail to ensure quality products are produced
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization
Skills:
- Food handling: Knowledge of proper food handling techniques to ensure safety and quality of bakery products
- Customer service: Ability to provide friendly and helpful service to customers, answering questions and assisting with their bakery needs
- Food safety: Understanding of food safety regulations and ability to follow proper procedures to maintain a safe working environment
- Cake decorating: Basic knowledge of cake decorating techniques, including piping, icing, and decorating with various toppings
- Bake/cook: Proficiency in baking and cooking techniques, including measuring ingredients, mixing batter, and using ovens or stovetops
- Kitchen: Familiarity with kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, scales, and measuring tools used in baking and food preparation
- Food preparation: Ability to prepare ingredients, measure quantities accurately, and follow recipes for various bakery items
- Restaurant: Understanding of restaurant operations, including teamwork, time management, and maintaining cleanliness standards
