Ministry of Attorney General and Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, Corporate Management Services Branch (CMSB) strives to provide excellence in corporate services and partners in our ministry's outcomes. Our mission as a central, consolidated support services team is to support all program areas and branches in both ministries. CMSB leads the preparation of budget submissions and financial reporting, and provides oversight, progress reporting, expert advice, and provides day-to-day services to its clients in finance, strategic human resources, facilities, and business planning.

The Strategic Human Resources Team works in partnership with Executive and Management to provide sound, value-added and innovative strategic human resource management and organization development services. CMSB provides strategic, ministry-wide direction and consultation services in the Ministries of Attorney General and Public Safety and Solicitor General (AG/PSSG) to help the Ministries achieve strategic business priorities and goals and enhance employee productivity for optimal results, through targeted employee engagement and development methodologies and implementation of corporate-wide programs and initiatives.

As a Strategic Human Resources Consultant, you will work closely with executive teams to develop ministry/sector human resource strategies and plans that align with medium and long-term client business needs and goals related to areas such as organizational design, succession management, change management, workforce planning, employee engagement, recognition, performance management, and leadership development. You will provide support to ministry management to ensure the effective implementation of corporate and ministry-specific programs taking into account broader corporate people management practices and the ministry's organizational needs. You will lead ministry/sector working groups tasked with designing and implementing ministry specific proactive strategies, client-related organization development and workforce planning initiatives, and projects that support building a collaborative, healthy and productive workplace.

Job Requirements:
  • Post secondary degree or diploma in a related field (such as human resources, public administration, business administration), or equivalent (such as CPHR). An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience:
    • providing strategic advice to executives and senior managers;
    • analysing workforce and work environment issues and trends;
    • developing and implementing plans, programs and initiatives, preferably in a HR environment.
  • Experience building, analyzing, and presenting plans and strategies to inform executive decision making regarding human resources investment priorities.
  • Experience facilitating presentations, seminars, and learning & development opportunities to large groups of varied staff.
