This position is an integral part of the Regional Management Team reporting to the Regional Executive Director (RED). In this capacity, the position serves regional and provincial priorities and goals and provincial initiatives in delivering an integrated approach to land management and stewardship of provincial Crown land, cultural and natural resources.
This position is excluded from union membership.

About this Position:
The position develops and maintains a broad network of strategic and operational relationships within the region, area and provincially across the Natural Resource Sector agencies to communicate/collaborate on Indigenous related strategic initiatives, land use and resource management planning, support policy development, agreement negotiations, and promote successful delivery of the priorities and goals of the Ministry. The position provides strategic and operational direction to the regional Indigenous Relations team and serves as a strategic liaison for Indigenous, non-government organizations, industry associations, federal and local governments. The position requires excellent problem solving, communication and change management skills with the ability to exercise a high degree of judgment in a situation of constant change, business transformation and shifting roles and responsibilities.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Bachelor’s degree in natural resource management, indigenous relations studies, business/public administration or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in natural resources management, including each of the following:
o Experience providing advice to senior executives.
o Experience in an operational management capacity with business and organizational planning accountabilities.
o Experience dealing with complex natural resource management issues that may significantly impact multiple parties.
o Demonstrated experience working with First Nations communities and facilitating Indigenous engagement and/or negotiations.
o Experience developing processes, procedures and practices to support work team and/or business delivery.
o Experience leading diverse teams of staff including developing and evaluating performance goals, coaching, team-building, and mentoring.
