Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a Body Shop Technician based at our facility in Richmond Hill. Come and join our team! We operate and maintain a public transit service in the north end of the Greater Toronto Area. This role requires an experienced Body Shop Technician that enjoys this niche role within our Maintenance Team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The Body Shop Technician is responsible for repairs to the interior and exterior of the buses in our transit fleet, including body structure, paint and interior components.

Specifically, tasks will include:

- Interior and exterior repairs

o Sanding and painting

o Fabrication

o Welding

- Basic body repairs, including scratches and dents;

- Accident repairs under $10,000;

- Inspection of buses for unreported items;

- Windshields, glass, mirrors;

- Accessibility ramps for wheelchairs, rollators etc.;

- Assist our mechanics when needed;

- Updating work orders in our Maintenance tracking system as work is completed; and

- Other responsibilities as as assigned by Management from time to time.

Qualifications

- Must hold a 310B license.

- 5 years’ experience in body work including finish.

- Experience with transit, commercial, or automotive vehicles would be an asset.

- Comfortable with maintenance systems for tracking and updating work orders.

- Must be dependable, well-organized and show attention to detail.

- Must be a calm problem-solver and an excellent communicator.

- Ability to be self-motivated and to work effectively as a member of a team.

Schedule: Typical work week will be 40 hours, Monday to Friday.
