Building Maintenance Technician

Applicant must have:

* at least 2 years maintenance experience.

* must have own vehicle to get to the office. bus transport is not an option.

* must have steel toe foot wear

*must have valid drivers licence with minimum 3 years experience to be covered by company vehicle insurance and clean drivers abstract

* NO tools are required

* company vehicles used to get to job sites

we are a retail and commercial maintenance company located in Halifax but do travel throughout the province depending on job.

Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks in a commercial building, including but not limited to:
- Conducting inspections and identifying maintenance needs
- Repairing and troubleshooting mechanical systems
- Responding to maintenance requests
- Performing preventive maintenance on equipment and systems
- Analyze and diagnose issues with building systems and equipment
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to repair and maintain various systems, such as plumbing, and electrical
- Provide excellent customer service to customers and address their maintenance concerns promptly and professionally
- Assist with low voltage electrical work, such as installing or repairing lighting fixtures or outlets
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff to complete larger projects or repairs
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed for repairs or improvements
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any major issues to the appropriate personnel
- Follow safety protocols

Requirements:
- Proven experience in Building Maintenance or a related field
- Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and repair various systems
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with tenants and colleagues
- Familiarity with low voltage electrical work is preferred
- Ability to fabricate or modify parts using appropriate tools and techniques
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools for repairs and maintenance tasks
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate effectively in a team environment

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 50 per week
