Position Title: Business Analyst – JDE Finance
Team and Location: Finance – Calgary, AB
Position Summary:
The Business Analyst, JDE Finance, provides analytical and operational support to various corporate finance departments (including, but not limited to Shared Services, External Reporting, Financial Planning and Analysis and Fixed Assets.) The BA operates as a key resource to develop and maintain efficient processes and procedures with the ERP system (JD Edwards) and additional financial reporting applications and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide functional support to JDE users on day-to-day operations
- Troubleshoot solutions for General Ledger issues in JD Edwards
- Governance and maintenance of Chart of Accounts, Business Units and related master data
- Perform month-end/year-end close procedures for AR, AP and General Ledger Modules, including review open batches, correcting where necessary and ensuring all batches are posted before closing.
- Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger in JD Edwards
- Assist with various financial projects and integration work (ie: trial balance mapping, Business Unit setup and Chart of Accounts setup)
- Provide support to all users of JDE system with DAS reporting
- Working with the corporate finance teams to understand and to define business/technical processes and requirements and to look for process improvement opportunities.
- Working with various departments of the business to support other business intelligence tools.
- Work alongside Business Intelligence department to support and ensure proper financial setup is in place to facilitate accurate reporting
- Recommend information technology strategies, policies and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
- Presents and talks to the business/technical requirements at meetings
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 3 to 7 years relevant career history in an analytical role.
- Degree in business, IT or accounting.
- Candidates must have Experience with JDE EnterpriseOne and DAS reporting.
- Experience with Hyperion, OneStream and Business Intelligence software.
- Intermediate to advanced skill level with Excel, MS project and Visio Well organized, detail oriented, and excellent analytical skills and takes initiatives to solve problems.
- Previous experience with a public company is add on.
- Experience in retail, commercial or supply chain operations considered an asset.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects at any given time, as well as work well under pressure with multiple deadlines.
- Strong teamwork orientation while also able to work autonomously on projects and initiatives.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
