Business Unit Manager - Canada

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, the world's largest manufacturer of automated doors, is seeking candidates for Business Unit Manager - Canada - Pedestrian Door Solutions.



This position will be responsible for the leading and continued development of the Pedestrian Door Solutions group in Canada, spanning multiple Provinces. Travel will be required. This position will report to the President, ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems North America, Pedestrian Door Solutions and will be based in Mississauga, ON.​



Expectations:​
  • A proven general manager skilled in growing and managing a sales and service organization.
  • Previous P&L experience and a proven track record of consistently developing teams and growing sales by advancing product, marketing and sales strategies.
  • This individual will have demonstrated experience utilizing a consultative sales approach in a business-to-business environment; experience with direct sales model is crucial for the position.
  • The successful candidate will lead and support multi-functional teams from sales, supply chain, technical service, marketing, and financial controls.
  • Expertise in business development, market expansion, M&A activities, organic growth and service development.
  • Understanding a customer's business model and service needs (as opposed to simply pushing product and price). ​
Qualifications:​
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, strong presentation skills and the ability to quickly adapt.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships on all levels and in a variety of cultures.
  • Experience in the Entrance Automation market (pedestrian doors, gate automation, overhead doors, high speed doors, etc.).
  • Strong leadership skills, excellent analytical and creative problem solving abilities, business planning, influence management, and a hands-on approach to business.
  • Ability to motivate individuals to exceed expectations in terms of corporate plans and in contributing to the overall profitability of the business.
  • Self-starter who possesses an innovative approach to business, along with a strategic mindset, with the ability and willingness to dig into details when necessary to fully grasp business challenges.
  • Must have the well-developed interpersonal and collaborative skills appropriate to a senior-level executive, and demonstrate the potential to assume increasing levels of responsibility in the future.
  • Relationship builder - must have the ability to pull people together and to rally the organization around common goals and common culture.
  • Experience in working internationally or exposure to working with an internationally-based parent company.
  • Experience in doing business in Canada a plus. ​
Requirements for this position will include a proven, broad-based leadership experience in a performance driven and dynamic organization. Bachelor's degree or MBA required. Must possess the ambition, energy and motivation to lead a competent and passionate team to success. A strong analytical mind who approaches business issues in a structured manner. Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and the ability to work with operations, sales professionals, supply chain, administration, vendors, suppliers, distributors, etc. Proven computer abilities; Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and BaaN.
