Powerhouse Mechanic - Operator CLASS 3

The work location is at Nunavik and the normal work schedule is on a rotation of 6 weeks: 3 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 3 weeks paid to rest.

Future challenges
Reporting to the Power Maintenance Supervisor-Planner, the Power Plant Mechanic-Operator:
Operates the main power plant and satellite units;
Performs preventive maintenance and repair work on generators, light towers and auxiliary equipment;
Carries out a diagnosis to determine the origin of a malfunction, repairs it and puts the equipment back into service;
Performs other related tasks associated with this position.
Profile required
Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in diesel mechanics or construction equipment; or Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in power generation; or other training deemed equivalent;
1-5 years experience in diesel engine maintenance/repair;
Experience working on generators;
Experience working on electrical and electronic equipment;
Experience working on pressure vessels an asset;
Ability to diagnose problems on various equipment related to generators, light towers and kettles;
Ability to interpret equipment drawings and specifications;
Valid driver's license is essential.
Nice to have
Possess the “C” electrical license;
Good knowledge of MS Office suite software;
Bilingualism (French and functional English).
