The River Valley and Horticultural Facilities section has an opportunity within the Municipal Cemeteries business area for a skilled individual to fill a critical customer service role.
You will be responsible for:
- Greet walk-in and appointment customers and advise appropriate staff member
- Provide consistent and effective quality service to all customers, internal and external, over the phone, email, and in person
- Distribute customer inquiries by type to appropriate Client Care Representative
- Ensure the sales front counter is ready when the facility is opened; follow opening and closing procedures
- Provide location maps as requested for cemetery patrons (in-person, phone and email)
- Submit service requests/notifications via SAP to Cemetery Operations staff based on customer inquiry/request
- Process payment(s) for cemetery products and services
- Enter payments/transactions using iNovah, process payments using bank POS terminals and IVR (phone) system
- Adhere to City of Edmonton Cash Handling and PCI policy and procedures which includes: ensuring daily transactions and deposits balance correctly, preparing deposit reports, completing documentation for weekly armored car pick-up
- Perform administrative work including data entry of interment records, and assist in archiving of historical documents
- Scanning/Attaching files into SAP
- Perform and complete administrative tasks as assigned safely, accurately and timely
- Completion of Grade 12 grade with emphasis on general office practice or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved school/college
- Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills are required
- Experience in customer service, cash handling, and Microsoft Word, Excel and Google applications are required
- Minimum of 6 months of previous customer service or sales experience
- Hire is dependent on Police Information Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton

Successful candidates may be eligible for recall in 2024
1 temporary full-time position for 6 months, with the potential to be extended for up to 11 months
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30-5:00pm.
The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.
Salary: $20.594 - $25.448 (Hourly)
