Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Master (GRT 500, Domestic) to join our team. As a Master, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing our newly acquired 100+Ft. research vessel. This is a vital role that requires strong rig and mechanical knowledge, as well as excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
Duties:
- Oversee and manage daily operations, ensuring efficiency and productivity
- Coordinate and supervise the work of crew members
- Maintain and repair equipment as needed
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues that may arise
- Train and mentor crew members to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication
Requirements:
- Hold a valid Master certificate with Transport Canada (500 GRT Domestic).
- Strong rig knowledge and mechanical aptitude
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
