In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, this position is accountable for the administration, supervision, planning and budgeting of the department. Reports to the Health Services Administrator on administrative matters and advises on budgets, workload, labour relations and personnel. Responsible for interpreting and implementing all institutional regulations, policies and procedures as they apply to Diagnostic Imaging services.
Professional Leader Component:
Ensures standards for Diagnostic Imaging staff are consistent with regulatory, accrediting body standards and relevant legislation. Provides clinical guidance to designated Diagnostic Imaging staff practicing in the facility. Advises Director on matters regarding Diagnostic Imaging practices.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00
Fort Nelson General Hospital is a nine acute bed hospital with seven long-term care beds. Services include laboratory, medical imaging, community counselling, basic obstetrics and minor surgery. Visiting specialists in obstetrics, pediatrics, massage therapy, acupuncture and physiotherapy is also available. Fort Nelson also has dental clinics, pharmacies, a health unit, drug and alcohol programs, counselling services, child and youth programs, and several support groups and organizations.
Fort Nelson is located in the northernmost region of the Rocky Mountains and has a family and recreation-oriented community of 3,366 (2021) people. Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited medical radiological technology program.
• Current certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) and eligible for membership with the BC Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (BCAMRT) and/or CAMRT.
• Five years recent experience in performing general radiological / Diagnostic Imaging procedures including three years of supervisory experience.
• Valid BC driver's license.
• An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
