Job Description:
The Carlo Fidani Regional Cancer Centre and the Betty and Buster Lockwood Cancer Detection and Treatment Centre at Trillium Health Partners provide outpatient systemic therapy and supportive care for people living with cancer. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, who is committed to evidence based practice and patient centered care for the newly created supervisor role.
Reporting to the Manager of Outpatient Clinics and Chemotherapy, the Supervisor will support the Patient Care Manager in providing leadership for the day to day operations of the oncology clinics and chemotherapy suites to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of care.
Supported by the manager, the Supervisor will be responsible for:
- Providing leadership and direction for operations and human resources
- Day to day planning and coordination of departmental operations
- Hiring, coaching, mentoring, evaluating and managing the performance and development of front line staff including progressive discipline
- Collaborative planning, implementing and evaluating of patient safety, quality improvement and risk management activities with patients and other health care professionals to facilitate change
- Baccalaureate degree required
- Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Competence from the appropriate College
- CON (C) certification preferred
- 2 years supervisory or leadership experience recommended
- 3-5 years oncology experience is recommended
- Strong leadership, communication and problem solving skills
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to the challenge of a busy environment with competing priorities
- Demonstrated commitment to learning and continuous quality improvement
- Self-motivated; contributes to all aspects of the team
- Satisfactory performance and attendance required
