Specific Accountabilities:
•Provides knowledge and expertise, direction and support to co-op students participating in Co-operative Education programs to ensure student success and co-operative education standards are achieved.
•Instructs, directs, coaches and provides guidance to individual or groups of students. •Prepares and presents formal presentations to co-op students and employers in relation to information on the College’s Co-op resources, and specifically on co-operative education policies and procedures, the effectiveness of the College Career Portal on-line system, job search techniques (including resume writing, value clarification, interview techniques, professional correspondence, employability skills, co-op work term recruitment resources, and employment standards (including Human Rights Code and privacy legislation), using a combination of MS PPT, Teams and D2L systems. Maintain strong knowledge/provide support to students on multiple software systems/new technology to enhance resources available to students seeking cooperative education.
•Determine and implement student eligibility for co-op utilizing the Policies and Procedures.
•Monitor students’ progress during work term, Responsible for the review of employer documents (feedback) and student Work Term report online modules.
•Completes administrative processes, document trails, other metric systems for purpose of capturing performance data, including employer and student satisfaction results, participation levels, and other co-op employment success measures. Develops statistical reports and presents findings as required.
About the Position:
This is a full-time, less than 12 month*, support staff Bargaining Unit position reporting to the Manager, Employment Ontario and Co-operative Education, working 35 hours per week at an hourly rate of $36.19.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the facilitation and coordination of the cooperative education experience of both co-op students and employers within the Co-op and Career Services Department. . The position has the principal role of preparing students in co-op programs for their coop work terms through both formal information sessions and personal meetings that address work term preparation and employment search strategies. Working closely with the academic departments the position aligns the co-op work term experience with the students’ academic program to ensure the applied learning opportunity enhances and is directly relevant to the students’ classroom learning. Further, you would be responsible for maintaining, developing and coordinating the policies and procedures required to administer all the college’s cooperative education programs. Collaborating closely with Job Developers, the respective academic schools and program coordinators the position will support employer outreach strategies and maintaining positive relationships with business, industry, government and non-governmental sectors of the economy.

The successful candidate will monitor students during their work term providing support to both students and employers to ensure a safe and meaningful coop experience. They will also gather data, create statistical reports and presents findings as required working closely with Deans and Program Coordinators as well as many departments internally and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:
•Requires a 3 year diploma or degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or a related field
•Requires a minimum of 5 years experience in related employment, human resources field supporting students / job seekers
•Advanced problem solving, assessment and evaluation skills
•Experience public speaking and developing presentations
•High degree of professionalism and diplomacy
Knowledge of Canadian labour market, Lambton College programs, employment trends and marketing techniques
•Strong technical skills – ability to navigate and troubleshoot multiple systems to support department operations.
•Experience with Microsoft Teams, D2L, Colleague and Orbis are an asset
•Experience supporting students in a post secondary environment is an asset
