PROJECT MANAGEMENT MANAGER - PURCHASING - COE

We are looking for a talented COE Responsible Procurement Lead to join our team specializing in Project Management/Purchasing for our Corporate/CBS Segment in Columbus, IN / your remote home office.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Manages the project management activities for assigned functional areas. Coordinates, prioritizes, negotiates, and manages the execution of all assigned projects and contracts. Leads the analysis, project identification, budget, communication, and integration.

  • Collaborates with business management to identify short and long-term projects to be undertaken; performs feasibility needs analysis to determine project timelines; manages the analysis, project identification, design, budget, communication, and integration of project plans; approves business workflow and project design; assesses business needs.

  • Project Manager capabilities and available project budgets.

  • Assists Project Managers with project issue resolution.

  • Monitors the status of all projects on the team; monitors the team's budget; advises Project Managers on the design and development of project plans and timelines.

  • Helps Project Managers assess project risk through use of quality tools; coaches Project Managers in alternatives, solutions, and change management approaches.

  • Ensures that Project Managers leverage experience of cross-functional resources and resources external to the project team, reviews project documentation.

  • Monitors project success measures and understands the status of specific projects and assignments.

  • Manages the project managers; delegates project assignments based on availability, ability, and developmental needs; provides developmental feedback to team members; coaches other Project Managers in managing teams.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • College, university, or equivalent degree required.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

  • Significant relevant experience, including supervisory experience, required.

  • The role will be responsible to lead a new program to increase Cummins revenue working with DBU (CSSNA and South Africa) and initiatives to provide diverse owned companies with growth that contemplates expanding through inorganic growth.

  • Rep to assess and monitor D&NA risk management related to recent threats against corporations` Supplier Diversity programs.

  • This role will have to facilitate request for public speaking, subject matter expert on Supplier Diversity and related business initiatives.

  • COE has taken on Sustainability.

  • This role will lead aspects of Sustainability objectives related to the Procurement Goal Tree such as returnable packaging and dunnage initiatives that reduces Cummins carbon and environmental waste footprint in accordance with the Planet 2050 objectives as well.

  • This role will involve due diligence and mapping Cummins suppliers supply chains in order to comply with regulatory industry requirements (Customer, Investors. etc.).

  • Collaboration with other teams for global reporting of Cummins progress against decarbonization water use waste reduction and others KPIs.

  • Responsible to work with global teams to define targets and performance plans to achieve KPIs for Supplier Diversity and Environmental Sustainability.

Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary range commensurate with experience, range: $112,000-$168,000. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
