Position Title: Community Relations Coordinator

Team and Location: Community Relations - Burnaby, BC

Position Summary:

The community relations coordinator will support and coordinate community relations projects, events, meetings for the growing strategic projects team and support baseline operations at the refinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and organize Community Advisory Panel and engagement sessions for the refinery.
  • Coordinate, organize and drafting minutes for meetings with key stakeholders including City of Burnaby and Metro Vancouver.
  • Provide administrative support to the team and Manager as required including invoices, calendars, meeting invitations.
  • Support team in coordinating and organizing key refinery events such as Hats off day, Blues & Roots, Canada Day and Fun Day in the Park.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • This is an entry level position with 2-3 years of experience working with the public.

  • Requires attention to detail, working independently and collaboratively with the team.

  • B.A. in Communications or equivalent and/or experience in public relations/ engagement.

  • Superior interpersonal skills required.

  • Ability to remain calm and diplomatic with public and key stakeholders.

  • Customer service experience an asset.

  • Prior experience providing administrative support to teams.
