Requirements:
Applications are invited for the position of Community Relations Coordinator for Guelph Museums & Culture, within the Culture and Recreation Department of Public Services. The Community Relations Coordinator will engage the community and raise the profile of museums and culture programs and events, increase visitation and participation, recruit volunteers, and cultivate donors.
Coordinate external communications, media relations, social media, and advertising for Guelph Civic Museum, McCrae House, and City of Guelph Culture Events and Programs.
Hours of Work Up to 20 hours per week. Hours may vary. Some weekend and evening availability required.
Duties
This position is responsible for:
- Digital engagement: website, social media and e-blasts
- Media relations
- Advertising
- Community listings
- Marketing outreach activities
- Customer relations database management
- Volunteer recruitment
- Donor and prospect communications
- Other duties as required
- Knowledge and experience related to the listed duties, typically gained through post-secondary education in public relations, communications, marketing, or a related field
- Minimum of two years work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated community relations skills
- MS Office proficiency
- Social media savvy
- A flair for storytelling
- Advanced research skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Analytical, self-motivated, and organized with a great attention to detail
