Job Description
Your Team
The Construction Customer Specialist, Multi Family (12 Month Contract) is a front line quality control position responsible for the customer experience throughout the construction of the home and coordination between the customer, sales, construction and other Brookfield teams. This position conducts all customer appointments during home construction, and is accountable to identify workmanship quality and the Home Owner Meetings, while providing an industry leading customer experience.
Your Key Deliverables
Quality Control:
Set and manage customer quality expectations
Ensure customers are satisfied with home quality and address / correct any concerns brought up by customers
Proactively review quality of customer home at each walkthrough
Conduct quality walkthrough with customers at various stages of home construction, including the Meet the Builder,, Home Orientation Meeting and Possession.
Identify and report construction issues and trends affecting build quality
Safety:
Understand and abide by the Brookfield Safety Program policies and procedures.
Contribute to maintaining a safe site at all times including; safe access walkways, installed guardrails, cleanliness, safe use of power tools, submit required safety inspections, etc.
Assist in training sub-contractors and trades on site cleanliness and safe work practice expectations
Construction Operations:
Review blueprints with customers to ensure accurate finishes & options are accurate to customer expectations
Provide formal documentation of quality control checks & walkthroughs to site managers and responsible trades. Hold the trades accountable for their respective quality control programs and full scope of work
Collaboratively work with site teams to ensure a clean site
Follow up on identified deficiencies with site teams until rectified
Support other aspects of Brookfield construction operations as required
Customer and Team Leadership:
Point of contact for the sales team for construction-related inquires on customer files.
Proactive and solution oriented approach to customer questions and concerns
Coordination of customer and construction team feedback regarding the home building process, quality and schedule.
Key Customer Touchpoints and education:
Meet the Builder:
Review plans, options, cut lines, upgrades with the customers to ensure file accuracy and alignment in customer expectations before the home start
Review and educate the customer on the construction process, what to expect and next steps
Conduct Mechanical Progress Visit
Home Orientation Meeting.
Possession Day Meeting in coordination with customer care team
2-week follow-up phone call in coordination with customer care team
Proactively identify and resolve customer's concerns before the 2-month AVID surveys.
Assist team members on quality and common trends to help mitigate future concerns
Contribute to outstanding customer experience.
Back fill roles and across projects as required in order to deliver best results for the region
Work with sales teams in communicating any unforeseen challenges that have the potential of creating deficiencies at the Home Orientation or Possession. Explain the reasons for the delay so the customers have a full understanding of what to expect and the actions that Brookfield will take to rectify the issue before any customer visits their home
Must Haves
A minimum of two years of general carpentry experience and an active participant in an apprenticeship program, a journeyman or equivalent
Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
Solution focused
Ability to work within a changing environment, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Effective communication skills; ability to communicate with customers, team members and external partners
Require a valid Driver’s License and vehicle; to travel to job sites
Possess or willing to obtain a First Aid certificate, obtain WHMIS certificate
Proficient in MS Office products and good computer skills
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership to the construction team and develop productive relationships with trades and suppliers
Physical Requirements:
Walk uneven terrain, kneel down, climb a ladder and stairs, crawl or manoeuvre through difficult areas.
Lift/ push/ pull up to 50 pounds
For safety reasons, ability to hear (hearing aids are acceptable) and 20/ 20 vision (corrective glasses or contact lenses are acceptable)
