The Role:
- Ensure site cleanliness and the compliance of all health and safety requirements.
- Be able to use a variety of hand and power tools (drills, nailers, saws, etc.).
- Clean/organize construction sites as needed – sweep floors, remove garbage, debris, etc.
- General maintenance – signage, floor repairs, ceiling repairs, millwork install, etc.
- Dismantle and removing concrete forms, remove and reinstall ramps.
- Loading and unloading construction materials and moving them to different work areas.
- Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management.
- Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Physically demanding work in commercial buildings, outdoors, at heights, in confined and or dusty spaces.
- Follow instructions from supervisors.
- Learn skills on the job when necessary.
The Ideal Candidate Has:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- Preference will be given to those with construction / handyperson experience.
- High level of reliability, initiative, proactive problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, and a willingness to learn.
- The ability to fit into and work with a construction-based team.
- The stamina to perform physically demanding responsibilities.
- The ability to travel within Canada.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Steel-toed boots and cell phone.
- Lives in Manitoba.
