Construction Superintendent

J& T Construction Limited is a general contracting company that was founded in 1987. Specializing in the management, construction, and renovation of commercial projects, we service clients throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. J&T Construction Limited is currently seeking a Superintendent to oversee and manage to completion commercial construction projects. Projects can range from $100,000.00 - $5,000,000.00 in value.

As a Site Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects from start to finish. Your role will involve supervising the construction team, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, and maintaining quality control. Your duties will include:

• Providing overall onsite construction management in conjunction with the Project Managers, Subcontractors, Owners, Engineers and Architects.
• Ensure the compliance of construction with the drawings, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Conducting regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards
• Planning and implementing schedules, determine manpower levels and material quantities, ensuring proper equipment and trades are available as required.
• Advising Project Managers and senior management of potential problems, work interferences and schedule difficulties and assisting in resolving these problems.
• Mentoring project team members to ensure career growth and development.
• Leading and monitoring safety onsite.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar construction position.
• Carpentry experience
• Safety training/certifications an asset
• The ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes and produce workable solutions and lead a large team to successful completion.

The compensation package offered is competitive and will reflect the successful candidate's qualifications and experience.

Current security clearances PSPC Reliability Status and RCMP FA2 or ERS would be considered an asset.

Salary: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
