Job Description
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be at the heart of a team bringing innovative technology to life as part of CIBC’s digital transformation. As an Database Administrator within CIBC’s Direct Financial Services in Capital Market, you’ll be responsible for the performance, integrity and security of databases for data warehouse application systems. You’ll also be involved in the planning and development of database solutions that enhance client experience and help build the bank of the future.

How You’ll Succeed
Database Systems Expertise – Be the subject matter expert in MS SQL. Use your knowledge to define and document data integrity, security, availability and control.
Develop best practices for database management and development with the goal of building a robust application and having well-tuned and good performing databases.
Recommend opportunities for improving our production database management to reduce the number of incidents.
Analyze performance issues and recommend short- and long-term fixes.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate experience with 3+ years supporting multiple applications as a seasoned DBA. Ideally you work well in a fast paced environment and have extensive hands-on expertise working with MS SQL in Azure and on prem, including knowledge of compliance requirements. Experience in Query Optimization & Data modeling is must. It’s an asset if you have knowledge or experience working within the Financial Services sector – ideally, within either the Risk Management or Capital Markets space. Experience with data modeling would be an added benefit.
