Temporary assignment - approximately 6 months

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Credentialed Trainer will be an active participant on the Digital Solutions Learning and Instructional Design Team contributing according to their respective area of clinical, business, or research expertise. The Credentialed Trainer consistently delivers assigned duties and tasks by expected deadlines following quality standards.

Credentialed Trainers use the curriculum, lessons and training materials created by the Digital Training Specialists to train end users. Unlike Digital Training Specialists, they do not need to obtain Epic certification and do not maintain the Master Training System (MST). They will instead complete an on-site credentialing program which will supply them with detailed knowledge of application functionality, familiarity with department specific workflow and the ability to handle tough questions.

QUALIFICATIONS
To successfully train large numbers of end users on Dovetale and other digital solutions, the Credentialed Trainer will work closely with the Digital Solutions Learning and Instructional Design Team.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relatable field, Education or Health Sciences preferred
  • 2-5 years of applicable work experience
  • Proven experience in education delivery utilizing Adult Learning Principles
  • Previous Epic software experience/certification is an asset
  • Experience in a health-care environment – basic understanding of clinical workflows and terminology preferred
  • Strong technical aptitude and/or presentation skills
  • Prior training experience and a passion for the continuing education of adults desirable
  • Willing to present a positive image of the application and team
  • Ability to build rapport, engage adult learners and establish an enjoyable learning environment
  • Effectively deliver scripted training material to groups of varying sizes for four hours or longer and the willingness to adapt to challenging training situations and personalities
  • Familiar with PHIPA, PIPEDA and AODA legislation
  • Ability to identify learners who are struggling and provide the necessary guidance/assistance
  • Excellent people skills with a strong commitment to customer service
  • Above average familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Credentialed Trainer will be an active participant on the Digital Solutions Learning and Instructional Design Team contributing according to their respective area of clinical, business, or research expertise. Credentialing
  • Attend and successfully complete the credentialing program
  • Pass credentialing exam with a competency of at least 85 percent
  • Successfully present a training topic before the credentialing panel
Training
  • Arrive one hour prior to the scheduled training session to set up the training room, prepare environment and other logistics
  • Verify and document attendance prior to the start of the training session
  • Deliver an effective, engaging training session to diverse audiences
  • Follow a standardized, application-specific, instructor-led, scripted training curriculum
  • Perform a competency assessment and complete the required documentation related to each training session
  • Follow up on any outstanding questions that arise during training
  • Incorporate and demonstrate the principles of Adult Learning during training sessions
  • Continually assess the varying training needs before, during and after each training session and conduct the necessary adjustments to training delivery based on audience assessment and training team feedback
Scheduling
  • Supports the planning, scheduling, attendance & EUPA tracking for the delivery of end-user training
  • Responsible for the organizing and processing all requests end-user training under the direction of the Manager of Learning & Instructional Design
  • Assists Digital Training Specialists and Access Team to coordinate training, evaluation and access
  • Works with Managers/Requestors to process training requests, coordinates all logistics including identification of course, room, trainer and communicates confirmation
  • Notifies Manager/Requestor is end-user missed schedule
  • Maintains regular training schedule using current tools including workshops and other Computer Lab bookings across the organization
Go-Live Support
  • Provide support to end users according, but not limited, to their assigned area/schedule when needed
  • May be assigned to conduct unit/department rounding during the initial weeks of go-live to provide support to end users according, but not limited, to their assigned area/schedule
End User Support & Adoption
  • Provide ongoing unit and department training and support as assigned
  • Continue to identify issues and concerns and promptly communicate back to team for discussion and timely resolution
  • Identify trends that may require adjustments to training and assist with updating approved changes
  • Testing lesson plans against training environment build
  • Facilitate workshops and preference labs for staff, learners/providers
  • Promote effective use of the applications, and quickly identify and prevent bad habits and workarounds
  • Serve as a liaison to promote change in workflow and behaviors related application/workflow changes
  • Support end users with at-the-elbow support
  • Administrative tasks related to assigning eLearning modules
  • Assist Digital Training Specialists with creating/updating Tip Sheets and eLearning modules
  • Engaging with Digital Training Specialists to maintain up to date knowledge of changes and advances in the system
  • Other duties as assigned
HOURS OF WORK
Regular Business hours Monday – Friday but rotating shifts and extended hours including weekends as needed to support large learner intakes and other implementations may be required
