NuView Radiology & Ultrasound Centre is looking for a skilled ultrasound technologist to join our growing team! We are located in the beautiful Port Arthur area.
General ultrasound duties for a sonographer include but are not limited to:
- Ensure adequate and relevant CPD/CME credits are obtained/documented on an annual basis.
- Participate in annual performance reviews as required.
- Ensure CPR is up to date.
- Provide ethical, competent and compassionate care in each patient/client interaction
- Use appropriate aseptic techniques and infection control procedures in the course of the diagnostic procedure.
- Report all unusual incidents involving patients, visitors or department personnel and document the incident. Submit incident forms to the supervisor/manager within 24 hrs of the incident.
- Ensure that all relevant previous examination reports are available to the Radiologist for review.
- Organize and maintain a proper work environment in both exam rooms and in the technical work area.
- Maintain adequate supplies in the examination rooms for scanning procedures, if such supplies are low, advise your supervisor or clinic manager
- Interact with other staff members to effect proper and timely arrangement for patient studies.
- Obtain supplement clinical history if not provided by the referring physician prior to scanning.
- Ensure the Technologist worksheet is complete and submitted for reporting.
- Ensure verbal reports are documented and proper protocol is followed.
- Maintain cleanliness in examination area and the office in general.
- Perform other related duties required such as laundry, film purging and minor housekeeping duties
- Adhere to the facility policies, procedure and protocols.
- Ensure all requisition information is accurate and complete. (Patient name, Exam ordered, Physician signature)
- Perform all diagnostic imaging procedures as ordered by the authorized health professional.
- Comply with any applicable privacy and confidentiality Acts/legislation such as Personal Health Information Protection Act
- Comply with all relevant legislation such as Health Care Consent Act
- Follow infection control, Health & Safety policies as well as the Protocols in the Policy and Procedure manual.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound Program.
- Registration and in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
- Must be credentialed by Sonography Canada and/or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
- Current CPR/BCLS
- Certification in Vascular, MSK would be an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal/written), and organization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle stress and conflict management in a professional, effective manner.
- Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and accurately, both autonomously and as an effective team member.
- Ability to meet patient and staff needs in an efficient manner.
- Commitment to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
- Must be flexible, punctual and have an excellent attendance record
- Demonstrated ability to organize work, and set priorities, managing time effectively.
