The Director of Care will be responsible for developing and implementing a Care Management system at Westbury Estates. The successful candidate will work closely with the General Manager to ensure a person-centric philosophy is employed in providing excellent quality care to all residents. The Director of Care will be responsible for implementing policies and procedures that ensure RHA and Accreditation guidelines are satisfied from a care administration perspective.
The Director of Care will be responsible for:
- Hiring of care and medication administration staff
- Supervising, mentoring and coaching personal care staff through orientation, on-the-job training and performance reviews to provide quality care to residents
- Ensuring required documentation is complete for staff
- Staff scheduling for care department, ensuring operational standards are met
- Provide emergency coverage to meet staffing standards as required and in conjunction with management team.
- Provide in-service training to entire team a minimum of quarterly.
- Admissions
Ø review assessment and advise General Manager.
Ø Create care plan
Ø Complete pharmacy transfer
Ø MCP change of address forms
Ø Resident Orientation checklist
- Communicating with residents’ doctors and family members to ensure an appropriate care plan is in place
- Complete quarterly audits with Eastern Health Monitoring team ensuring all operational standards are met.
- Ensures resident satisfaction and continuous quality improvement initiatives are in place
- Assists care staff ensuring that initial / ongoing assessments and care plans are developed, implemented and reviewed
- Monitor the quality of care services and administer long term strategic plans
- Participate in doctors rounds
- Prepare and submit interdisciplinary referrals as required.
- Purchase care department supplies as needed
- Manage Care staffing and supply budget.
- Performs other related duties when needed
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
