What is the opportunity?

The US Cash Management (USCM) Technology team is undertaking a green field project to build a brand-new system to serve corporate clients. In this role, you will be heavily involved in shaping the future technology landscape of RBC, by delivering key financial values for a transformational project in our Banking Technology group. This role will be partnering with the senior management team, the COO and lead key business management functions to ensure alignment to overall USCM’s Strategy.

What will you do?

The Director, Finance and Performance Management is a key role that will assist in financial oversight and performance management in support of the USCM vision and mission in the areas of:

  • Work closely with COO, US Cash Management to manage day to day Key Deliverables while working across the Senior Management team to deliver.
  • Responsible for designing, producing and delivering financial and management reporting for US Cash Management Technology to senior management including monthly reporting, FTE reporting, etc.
  • Lead the annual and quarterly creation of the US Cash Management Technology budgets and monitor adherence to plans/forecasts. Set, monitor, and report on financial targets and goals.
  • Collaborate with senior management to define and execute operational and performance management frameworks for the business, including setting appropriate metrics and building out the data infrastructure required to sustain ongoing monitoring of these metrics (such as KPIs)
  • Set the direction of the automated reporting pertaining to operational KPIs, Finance related insights, and progress against strategic goals for leadership decisions and insights including vendor relationships, product health, program delivery and operational resiliency (monthly business review document).
  • Provide governance and oversight of all supplier led initiatives in USCM and manage through issues and risks
  • Support development of team by providing direction, expertise, feedback, coaching to build the capability of peers and other key partners
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have

  • University degree or equivalent
  • 10+ years experience with business office and financial performance management
  • Excellent financial management understanding and capabilities
  • Experience with financial models and reporting of benefits
  • Excellent communication and business writing skills
  • Strong negotiation, impact and influence, and stakeholder management
  • Strong people leadership and change leadership skills
  • Able to influence without authority, through negotiation, interpersonal skills and motivation skills
  • Proven ability to act quickly and work in a fast paced environment, pivoting as priorities change

Nice-to-have

•   CPA or Finance MBA highly preferred
