Director Of Operations

Located in the Newfoundland and Labrador region, the Director of operations is responsible for working with and leading the day-to-day activities of the Operations Team (Customer Service, Operations Managers, Planning, and Dispatch) to effectively implement transportation services to customers and to ensure that all activities are accurately recorded in the company’s transportation management system for the Region. Regular interaction with customers to strengthen business relationships and foster a high level of communication.

Responsibilities:

Direct the activities of the day-to-day transportation operations and major projects.

Manage driver relations in the region.

Monitor the general operations of staff of the transportation departments to make sure that their operations are within the guidelines, safety measures, government orders, and administrative policies.

Involve in the negotiation and authorization of contracts and other forms of purchases and procurements that are related to the company’s transportation needs.

Develop important indicators that measure and show the effectiveness of the company’s transportation operation.

Oversee department’s budget from proposal to expense control.

Other tasks assigned within the operation.
