Electrician In Borden, On

Borden Facilities Management team is located at Base Borden in Angus, ON, and the principle duties of the Electrician are to inspect, provide high level reports, trouble shoot, repair, replace and install any component of the sites electrical systems (emergency lighting, exit lights, obstruction lighting, lightning protection, battery operated smoke detectors) as part of preventive, corrective maintenance programs or assisting with additional projects.

- Analyses electrical drawings, specifications and instructions to troubleshoot, repair, replace and install components of normal and emergency power systems (up to 600V).

- Installs electrical circuits and all types of electrical equipment and appliances including grounding leads, lighting fixtures, life safety systems, and other circuits as needed.

- Mounts motors, transformers, light fixtures into position and complete circuits according to drawings and specs.

- Inspects lighting system, emergency power system, fire alarm and door systems, HVAC system, etc.

- Replaces and/or repairs faulty components including switches, sockets, ballasts, light bulbs/tubes and other simple elements of electrical systems.

- Assists in preparing quotes for Additional Work Requests (AWR).

- Other relevant duties as assigned by Operations Coordinator and/or Account Director.

- Facilitates any necessary inspections including TSSA and ESA.

- Maintains company vehicle and associated expense reconciliation.

- Grade 12 Diploma

- Must achieve and maintain Level 2- Secret security clearance for work in National Defence facilities.

- Minimum 10 years within Canada

- Valid Ontario Electrician License

- 3 - 5 years of maintenance electrician experience

- Valid Driver's License & Clean Driver's Abstract

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques
