About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Employee and Labour Relations, and working with the Employee and Labour Relations team, this role has a mandate to review organizational data and trends, identifying patterns and common issues in applying the collective agreements and grievance processes to support strategies for improvement. In addition, this role analyses operational indicators to drive service improvement and conducts research related to market trends, updates and best practices of Employee and Labour Relations with the goal of standardizing service delivery and supporting/enabling Human Resources Business Partners, People Services Centres of Expertise (COEs) to meet strategic and operational goals.
Specific Accountabilities
Analytics

-Maintaining department and organizational data, tracking and statistics to provide input to reports and dashboards.
-Analyzing and interpreting data related to labour policies and procedures.
-Obtaining demographic data, conducting statistical analysis of data, tracing employee histories, analyzing payroll/finance data, compiling corporate histories associated with policies, procedures and practices.
-Generating reports and presenting to management/senior management and/or key stakeholders.
-Collaborating with other internal and external SMEs and analytics teams.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement

-Conducting research and providing insights on labour market trends, labour laws, and industry best practices.
-Supporting the creation of reference tools/materials, resources, guides, etc to support HRBPs and other PS COEs deliver service. Collaborating with labour law resources to ensure alignment and consistency.
-Leveraging technology to improve ELR service delivery, information sharing and support a modernized COE team and service.
-Analyzing and making recommendations for process/service improvement, efficiency and supporting implementation.
Collective Bargaining and Essential Services

-Conducting surveys of internal stakeholders, gathering all relevant information/data and providing analytical support for collective bargaining
-Assisting in the preparation of materials for labour negotiations
-Conducting bench-marking research on collective agreement provisions and application
-Assisting with the compilation of Essential Service plans, analysis and reporting.
Strategy

-Collaborating Employee and Labour Relations team in formulating and implementing Labour Relations strategies.
 
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
 
-Bachelor’s degree in human resources, health, business, public administration, or a related field or an
equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
-Human Resource Certificate or Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is considered an asset.
-Masters in Labour/Industrial Relations is considered an asset.
-Minimum of 5 years’ experience in employee/Labour Relations analytics.
-Experience working in a complex, high volume, multi-union environment.
-Experience working in a complex, high volume, multi-union human resources environment, ideally within the health sector.
-Experience collaborating with others across the spectrum of human resources.
-Demonstrated up-to-date knowledge of employee and Labour Relations issues and trends, labour laws, and legislative initiatives.
-Knowledge of health care organizations and the health sector.
-Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships and interact with all clients in scope.
-Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP.
-High level of competence in both written and verbal communication.
-Experience working with diversity of staff and stakeholders, with knowledge of cultural competence, diversity and inclusion.

Hours
-Permanent Full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
