About PUMA Inc.

Reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions has become very important for organizations and PUMA is here to help. PUMA Utility Monitoring provides an energy management software and services that helps organizations save energy, GHGs, and to stay on track with their sustainability goals. Our software is used for energy and carbon management by over 1200 sites across Canada across various types of organizations from property management firms to school districts and municipalities. PUMA was built by the extensive know-how of Prism Engineering, a company with over 30 years of experience in energy management and utility accounting, including cumulative savings analysis.

We are currently looking for a career starter to take on an Energy Analystrole under an 18-month contract commencing in February or March 2024. This is a 40-hour per week salaried position in a hybrid work environment, based primarily in our Burnaby Office. We provide flexibility for working hours, including performing this role part-time at a minimum of 24 hours per week.

What you need to have

  • Interest in energy conservation, climate change mitigation, the environment, and in making a difference.
  • Interest in learning about energy management.
  • A diploma, undergraduate university degree, or equivalent foundational experience related to energy management, data analysis, sciences, operations, and other relevant disciplines.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft excel and some data analysis.
  • Good attention to detail and a curiosity to learn and grow.
  • Strong interpersonal and client interaction skills.

What you will do

  • Collect, enter, analyze, and interpret utility data into the PUMA utility monitoring software and turn them into useful information and reports.
  • Interact with and provide insights to clients to make effective energy management decisions and realize energy savings.
  • Recognize and address data quality issues, both from data obtained and data entered into the database.
  • Investigate more complex utility bills and metering anomalies for electricity, natural gas, and chilled water and hot water distribution systems.
  • Provide support to the M&V specialist on energy projects, when required.
