candidate to work in Kuujjuaq, in the capacity of;
Environmental Technician
(Permanent, Full-time position)
Reporting to the Assistant Director Environment and Lands, the Environmental Technician
will be working closely with the Environmental Specialist and in partnership with the
Department of Municipal Public Works. More specifically, the Environmental Technician will:
- Inspect regularly or when needed the environmental conditions existing in the Nunavik
- Provide assistance for implementation of information programs on environmental issues
- Cooperate with the Ministry of Environment in matters related to environmental
- Provide technical assistance to the Northern Villages for the management of their
implementation of residual material and hazardous waste management programs;
- Provide technical assistance to the Northern Villages for the management of hazardous
- Provide technical assistance to the Northern Villages for the packaging, storage and
- Perform any other duties as required.
- Possess a Secondary V diploma; exceptional work experience will also be considered
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related field;
- Strong communication skills and be able to work independently as well as with others;
- Leadership qualities and good ability to work with a group of people;
- Working knowledge of basic computer software;
- Written and oral working knowledge of at least two (2) of the following languages:
- Willing to travel within Nunavik.
Salary: Min; $40,959 /year, Max: $67,844 /year (Class 6)
Other benefits: Cost of living differential: Minimum of $8 500/year
Food allowance: Minimum of $3 707/year
Annual leave trips: maximum of 3 per person annually
Simplified Pension Plan: 6% employer, 4% employee
