Summary of the role:

As a member of the Executive Team, the Executive Director, Corporate Communications and Community Relations provides innovative, relevant, useful, and impactful communications products to showcase Destination Greater Victoria (DGV) in the best possible manner through integrated and impactful corporate communications. The Executive Director will energetically and positively position the work and investments of DGV in the community, driving a holistic, integrated, and effective community relations strategy. They will deliver effective and impactful statutory reporting, communicate results, and tell the story of DGV across a variety of media and channels.

What you need to bring:

• Undergraduate/graduate degree in relevant discipline or a combination of equivalent related education and experience.
• A minimum of 10 years’ work experience with corporate communications is required.
• Experience working with elected and unelected officials as well as senior representatives and diverse partners in a multi-stakeholder environment.
• Significant media training and experience working with news media and journalists across all communications channels.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including strong public speaking skills.
• Positive, upbeat, and solutions-oriented attitude.
• Organized and results-driven mentality.
