As the Spa Facilities Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the Spa’s mechanical systems and their operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner. You will champion the water quality, including the heating and cooling systems, performing minor repairs as needed, conducting regularly documented inspections of all facility equipment, and ensuring that all safety regulations are met. You will also lead and oversee the Nordic Spa Attendant and Facilities teams. You will achieve excellence by leading and teaching your people to make business decisions that are focused on upholding the highest standards in guest service while delivering against key financial goals and performance metrics. You will work closely with PKML’s Chief Engineer to ensure the facility operations standards are met. Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Manages the maintenance and repair of pool mechanical equipment, buildings, and grounds. This also includes maintaining the pool chemistry, chemicals, heating units and pump equipment.
- Manages and directs the daily activities of the Spa Attendants, and Spa Facilities teams. Ensuring the guest experience is at the forefront of all tasks and leading a culture of service excellence.
- Advises Spa General Manager of future equipment planning and ongoing preventive maintenance requirements and is responsible for all related vendor contracts and ensures they meet corporate standards and deliver promised services and materials.
- Manages, as needed, outside property maintenance including snow removal, leaves and plants, pool area, equipment room and always ensure safe environment.
- Ensure all public areas are guest-ready at all times; guest amenities are stocked, and all areas, both front of house and back of the house are pristine clean.
- Order toiletries, disposables, and cleaning products for the Spa.
- Conduct regular inspections and plan in-house preventative maintenance programs.
- Creates forecasts to drive decisions within their area that supports the overall financial goals of their business.

- Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree
- Facilities Management: 2 years (Preferred)
- Trade Certifications an asset
- Safety Certifications an asset
- Minimum 3 years in a leadership role
This position is set in a fast-paced environment, with high levels of interaction with guests, employees, and other stakeholders. Due to the 365 day a year operation of the Spa, the Spa Facilities Operation Manager may be exposed to long shifts that at times include late hours, weekends, and holidays. This position will spend a lot of time on their feet multitasking competing priorities, effectively dealing with employees and guests and leading a culture of service excellence. Working outdoors in a variety of Mountain weather conditions, with average temperature ranges of -30 C / -22 F to +30 C / +86 F.
