As part of our continuing growth in this high technology market, Teledyne Digital Imaging is recruiting for a Finance Manager based out of our Waterloo office.
Position Summary and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the financial manager plans, directs and co-ordinates finance and accounting operational functions, including Financial Accounting and Management Accounting. Responsible for maximizing return on financial results and who is responsible for supporting key central planning processes to deliver a consistent, reliable, business unit reporting. This role will interact with many different finance and accounting teams within Teledyne DALSA.
Responsibilities
- Primary point contact for developing yearly budgets.
- Support the consolidation and analysis of weekly, monthly, and annual forecasts
- Validation of month/quarter end Actual results and aid in the investigation into any variances
- Participating in monthly close process and ensuring all close timeline met, including integrity of financial results.
- Drive continuous improvements for accuracy and efficiencies into day to day and key planning processes
- Supervise small team of current and future financial BU staff. Through hiring, train, retain staff; plan, monitor and appraise job results.
- Work with Finance Director, to ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies and procedures.
- Establish, monitor and enforce corporate financial policies and procedures
- Prepare any additional required supporting documentation
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance
- Professional designation/qualification desirable, i.e. CPA.
- 5 - 8 years of accounting management experience, at least 2 - 4 years as an supervisor/manager capacity
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing, general and project accounting
- Superior analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills; research and analysis;
- Business communications – report writing;
- Ability to develop and implement plans, procedures, and processes
- Working knowledge of project costing terms and concepts
- Understanding of revenue recognition by percentage of completion method
- Familiarity with the budgeting process and its formulation
- Computer literacy: relevant software applications – spreadsheet and databases and word processing
- SAP experience would be an asset
