Public Prosecutions requires a highly-organized and self-motivated individual to assist with the Gang Violence Reduction Strategy in Saskatchewan. This includes collecting information, prioritizing referrals, and corresponding with justice partners to facilitate information sharing on gang offenders and assist prosecutors and others in decision-making.
This position does not involve interviewing offenders. It primarily involves gathering information from governmental and non-governmental agencies and individuals, writing documents which summarize the many often-lengthy reports and accounts provided by various sources, and as appropriate sharing information with decision makers. To accomplish this, you will be in daily contact with the sources in person, electronically, and over the telephone. You will deal with highly-sensitive and explicit material.
Working independently, this position requires you to be part of an extremely busy and often stressful office. You will have the ability to respect and maintain strict confidentiality. The ability to deal with ever-changing priorities and short timelines and to balance many tasks in an efficient yet thorough manner are essential.
Some of the necessary skills and knowledge for the position would typically be attained through a university degree in Human Justice and/or Criminology.
