Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shop Manager. As Gift Shop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the shop's operations (Monday to Friday, daytime only), ensuring excellent customer service, driving sales, and managing an all-volunteer staff.
Duties
- Manage day-to-day operations of the shop, including opening and closing procedures
- Provide exceptional customer service and address customer inquiries or concerns
- Train and supervise volunteers
- Liaise with the Volunteer Department to recruit volunteer staff
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed (gift items; sweaters, purses, hats, gloves, scarves; baby clothes and toys; boxed chocolates; toiletries; etc)
- Ensure merchandise is well displayed
- Handle cash register operations, including cashiering and handling financial transactions
- Develop promotional strategies and improve sales
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail management is required
- Strong organizational, time management
- Computer and accounting skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English/French with customers and volunteers
- Work well with people; outgoing; able to respond to last minute personnel changes
- Active, may require being on your feet for a large part of the day
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $23.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
