Role Summary

The role of Global Program Manager (GPM) is to ensure alignment and lessons learned across all regions/divisions.  The GPM leads the Global teams and optimize all financial, timing, quality and production requirements, ensuring long term planning and visibility of issues globally.  The GPM supports the success of each Division through the launch of the project and works with divisional Program Managers who are on lead for the divisional launch.

Key Responsibilities

•    Facilitate and ensure on-time program execution - Coordinate and lead the Global Team to prepare and execute on time the Global Program strategy and a flawless launch in all Divisions, following Cosma Program Management Process (CPMP)
•    Memorandum Of Understanding activities & updates - Author and maintain the MOU that will be used to govern the execution of the program assigned. Ensure roles and responsibilities are understood and there is buy-in of Divisions. Ensure overall resource planning effectiveness
•    Ensure Divisions use CPMP starting from Phase 0
•    GPM budget requirements
•    Program master timeline
•    Report out in Global Program Reviews
•    Understand SOR, RFQ's
•    Lead customer meetings and ensure that all customer requirements are fulfilled. Ensure effective relationships
•    Manage Global Team - internal central communication point
•    Facilitate and ensure technical alignment of product, assembly, and tooling according guidelines
•    Ensure that key business processes, Cosma standards and critical protocols are followed
•    Guide Divisions to achieve highest possible synergies and alignment of costs and pricing for successful Product, Process, Tooling & Equipment Sourcing and Implementation; Ensure all alignment protocols are followed and issues elevated in a timely manner to ensure resolution.
•    Co-ordinate Lessons Learned sharing globally
•    Co-ordinate Eng. and Prototype Activity
•    Ensure ED&D Group is on time and within budget
•    Facilitate and ensure conflict resolution between Divisions – elevate immediately to GM’s and GPM Director and if required to Regional VPs and Launch and PM Director, then to President if required;
•    Ensure on time Escalation meetings as per Red Flag Procedure
•    Ensure CPMP is utilized for Global Program Reviews and reporting
•    On time process and gate review
•    No global programs Tooling Kick Off without pre-tooling kick off metrics complete
•    Lead global Engineering Change Management System strategy – understanding of design, specs, costs & timing – ensure ECN due dates met
•    Ensure Divisions are effective in supplier & vendor management and ensure global effectiveness
•    Other duties that may be assigned

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • 7 years of Program Management/Launch/Business Acquisition experience, of which at least 2 years at Magna preferred
  • Knowledgeable in industry Standards & Procedures; knowledge of Cosma Standards & Procedures is an asset
  • Leadership, Organizational & People Skills
  • Proficiency in English is a must
  • OEM experience and understanding of requirements
  • Understanding of Program Finance Management
  • Familiar with quality related tools ( i.e. APQP, FMEA, PPAP, MSA, SPC, etc.)
  • Project Management Skills
  • Knowledge of Product, Process & Tooling Engineering are an asset
  • Post secondary education - preferred in either Business, Engineering or Technical
  • Additional Language skills are an asset

Physical Demands
•    Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer, may require local travel.
•    Business travel is a requirement of this position, within and outside of core working hours, of up to 30% of time
