We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Shop Foreperson to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success. This is a full-time, permanent position, Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm.

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Shop Foreperson plays a key role in scheduling and overseeing the mechanical work performed, ensuring efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy-duty repair, exceptional leadership skills and a passion for delivering top-notch service.

Details:

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of technicians, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Possess strong technical knowledge to assist technicians in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
  • Assign work to technicians and monitor work progress to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with service writers to ensure effective communication and customer satisfaction.
  • Review completed repair orders to ensure proper description and accurate coding of work performed.
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures to ensure high-quality service.
  • Identify training needs for the team and provide ongoing coaching.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Responsible for the safety of employees, as well as procedures, cleanliness of the shop, and organization of tools and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Shop Foreperson or similar leadership role in the truck and transport repair setting.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in diagnosing and repair as a Licensed Truck & Transport / Trailer Technician.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Proficient in shop management software and computer skills.
