In Canada, Babcock works in the Marine sector, where our teams provide critical and complex support to Canada’s submarine fleet. We also operate in the Aviation sector, where Babcock ensures that the aircrew trainees of our partner nations receive the world’s best flying training. We deliver vital aerial emergency services and are proud to have been selected by the Government of Manitoba to deliver their wildfire suppression services, as well as key components of their critical air ambulance services.

In this role, you will:

  • Support client groups of professional employees located throughout Canada.
  • Coach and support management in areas of leadership development, performance and talent management, change management, employee engagement, human resources and communication.
  • Support the design, development and delivery of programs and processes such as orientation, onboarding, performance management, engagement, compensation, annual leadership and skills development review.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition Specialists and support the Business Unit management in identifying recruitment strategies and resolving recruitment roadblocks.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource legislative requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records.
  • Contribute to the continuous process improvement of the HR team and Business Unit by influencing human resources strategies, policies and methods.
  • Work with the Business Development Team as required to help develop appropriate bid solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate brings:

  • Has a diploma/degree in the areas of Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Holds a current CHRP/CPHR professional designation.
  • Has a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in HR with at least 4 years in a similar HRBP role directly supporting a customer group.
  • Experience working in the Marine or Aviation Industry, military, or on a large bid is preferred.
  • Has experience in the creation, development, and implementation of HR business solutions for a wide range of customers.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to communicate clearly and professionally via all means of communication and to a variety of customers.
  • Is driven by results and have a clear vision on what a strategic HR Business Partner role is expected to be.
  • Proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, meaning that you must have received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the Government of Canada with the final dose at least 14 days prior to your start date as well as any COVID boosters recommended by public health authorities
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
