What will you do?

Siemens Canada Limited is a leader in the development of rugged communications networking solutions designed for mission critical applications in harsh environments. We are seeking a highly skilled individual to fill the position of Senior Industrial Network & Security Consultant in the Services department. The position will be reporting directly to the Manager – Professional Services at Siemens’ facility located in Concord, Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead services projects from start to handover with minimal supervision
  • Conduct wireless planning and site survey activities
  • Create detailed design documentations for complex Industrial wired and wireless networks solutions.
  • Perform on-site activities including Configuration, integration and testing of industrial network and security solutions.
  • Optimize an existing wired or wireless network and stage network for testing as needed.
  • Perform system tests and produce reports as required.
  • Develop training course curriculums, build training material, and perform training activities as needed.
  • Prepare and present detailed technical proposals, including product demonstrations and solution prototypes.
  • Resolves complex technical problems to meet customers' needs.
  • Generates technical collateral such as blueprints, application notes and whitepapers.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor of Science/Associate degree in electrical/computer/mechanical engineering/computer science or equivalent technical degree.
  • 3- 5 years of experience with network infrastructures
  • Good knowledge of multiple vendor environment and technologies,
  • Strong technical skills and ability to think outside-of-the-box to address the most complex applications.

Requirements:

  • Technical Skills Required
  • Has experience working in a multivendor Industrial Environment.
  • Understanding of technologies (typical assets, communication protocols, technical architectures) utilized by OT-ICS systems (SCADA/DCS/PLC/RTU) and networks
  • Network design (Topologies, Rings, Routing, VLAN, VRRP).
  • Networking analysis knowledge and proficiencies in Wireshark, and SNMP
  • Good working knowledge of Linux and Virtualized environments
  • Networking Certifications such as CCNP or Siemens certifications is an asset.
  • Cybersecurity Certifications such as GICSP, or IEC62443 is a plus.
  • Demonstrate project management skills
  • Soft Skills Required
  • Self-motivated and self-starter.
  • Sound interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to get things done, especially in a matrix environment
  • Business acumen.
  • Customer focused
  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical/computer/mechanical engineering/computer science or equivalent technical degree.
  • Typically, 5 or more years of experience with network infrastructures.
  • Excellent command of the English language, professional knowledge of a second language (French, Spanish) is an asset
  • Excellent command of Word, Excel, VISIO, Power Point and Outlook
  • Able to accommodate for 30% to 50 % of Travel schedule internationally worldwide on short notice.
  • Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in Canada, and able to travel to the USA and internationally on short notice
